Singing in the rain

Today is a good day. After the lousy start (woke up late, the bf drove by the erp with not enough money to be deducted, having ants crawl on the bench i was studying on outside SOA, and getting backaches from sitting at those benches), it took a turn for the better.

We found a seat outside the SRs and I started to feel more comfortable. And I actually enjoyed doing a flexible budget variance question. Haha it's damn weird but I felt like "Ah you sneaky piece of shit, I found where you slacked at and overspent! Don't try to hide it you noob!" as i was solving the question. I guess that's what we should feel like when we are really learning.

And after we went for dinner, we took a stroll to the Macs at Bras Basah to get a chocolate McFlurry (it's quite good, I had it 3 times this week already, and today is Wednesday haha). Then it started to rain and we ran for shelter and to finish the icecream at Chijmes. And it's times when you're stuck that make you stop and realise that the world is really a pretty place. Save for the fact that we are killing the Earth every minute with all the lights and electricity consumption, the christmas feeling is starting to sink in with the nice decor. And just standing inside Chijmes to marvel at lovely church structures makes time pass very nicely.

Of course, to round off the eventful dinner trip, we saved a snail on our way back to the library! I was reminding him to be careful not to step on snails, and I spotted one in our path and thus decided that we should change it's life. So I made the bf squat beside the tile for a couple of minutes to determine the snail's intended path and then got him to pick up the snail to help it reach its destination in a much shorter time. Never mind that passers-by must have thought we were weird to be squatting in the middle of the path.

Him: "Aye got people walking, maybe we should go"
Me: "That's why we must squat here! If not they surely step on the snail one!"

And so we decided to continue to help the slimy little thing. (It's odd, I don't particularly love snails, I generally get grossed out by bug-stuff, but the idea of a snail trying to rush to cross the path is just so HOW-CAN-YOU-NOT-HELP-IT kinda feeling)

When we finally placed it near the bushes which it was heading to, we continued to squat down and occupy the path to take photos of the little thing and two men walked past. One of them talked to me,

Him: "Oh, you're taking photos?"
Me: "Yup! We saved a snail's life, someone was going to step on it!"
Him: "Oh! Who was?"
Me: "I don't know, but it was in the middle of the path and I think someone would have"
Him: "Wow you really changed the snail's life"

Okay he might have been sarcastic, I can't tell for sure because i didn't look at him straight in the face (was paying more attention to the snail), but I thought that it completed my day really nicely:)

(The kind of things you read in the storybook, some little girl talking to animals, being engrossed in learning something new and watching the rain. That's what today felt like!)

All Dressed for a Ball!
(and not looking out of place because mummies and superheros passed us by on the Halloween Night)

busier than a busy bee! But had awesome luck the past couple of weeks:)

Won tickets to catch Avenue Q, and won the top prize at the lucky draw at my laogong's ord dinner. YAY

And the ord dinner was just now, and i finally got to wear my impulse buy mango dress, and took many many cool photos!

I wish i wasn't so insecure, and wish that all dreams stay dreamy. I know it doesn't make sense but I'm listening to Christmas songs and they don't help you think rationally either. It's 3:45am and i need to get sleep before my 10am meeting in school tomorrow:(
